Hispanic Heritage Month

Hispanic Heritage Month begins Sept. 15, 2017, and will run through Oct. 15, 2017, at Sheppard with the theme of “Shaping the bright future of America.”

This year’s planning committee aims to shape the future through education and fun filled evenings. They wish to share their diverse Hispanic culture by directly engaging with Airmen and their families in celebration.

Some of the events Team Sheppard will have the opportunity to experience are:

Flag Coloring and Arts and Crafts – Sept. 25, 2017, at the Child Development Center from 2-4 p.m.

Movie Night for Airmen in Training – Sept. 29, 2017, at the Solid Rock Café from 6-8:30 p.m.

Music and Dance Performance – Oct. 4, 2017, at the Sheppard Club from 4-8 p.m.

Food Tasting – Oct. 12, 2017, at the Solid Rock Café from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Each event will have a Hispanic theme and will feature cultural favorites from around the world.
