Tech. Sgt. Monique Lovejoy, 363rd Training Squadron maintenance management production instructor and native of Las Vegas, Nevada, has been in the Air Force for eight years and is the Instructor of the Week at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas, for the week of Aug. 23-29, 2016.

Most significant accomplishments:

1.  Earned Master Instructor Qualification.

2.  Completed two CCAF degrees.

Airman’s Story:

“I came from an immigrant family and I am a part of the first generation to grow up in the U.S.,” Lovejoy said. “My mother always pushed education and encouraged me to read whatever I could get my hands on. Consequently, I was that nerdy kid who spent their lunch money at the book fair. In my freshman year, I decided that I wanted to pursue a career in education, I just wasn't sure how to get there. My father was an Air Force retiree, so I decided to follow in his footsteps and get my education along the way. Fast foward a few years and now I'm serving and educating. Between Honor Guard and Instructing, I take care of people from cradle to grave and I couldn't be happier with where life is taking me. The best part of it all is that I get to share my journey with my five-year-old son, Kenneth. He's my partner in crime.”

Supervisor comments:

“Technical Sergeant Lovejoy trains and motivates approximately 185 Air Force active duty, reserve, National Guard and international students annually,” said Master Sgt. Louis Stukes, MMP NCO in Charge. “Technical Sergeant Lovejoy conducts career field overview brief for the Air Force logistics officer school courses providing understanding of maintenance scheduling to future maintenance officers. Lovejoy also enforces Air Force standards through open ranks and health and wellness inspections promoting professional Airmen. Lovejoy is involved in various squadron organizations such as the ‘Top Three’ and squadron booster club as well as a member of the base Honor Guard performing various details around the base and the community.”
