Airman’s
Story:
“I
came from an immigrant family and I am a part of the first generation to grow
up in the U.S.,” Lovejoy said. “My mother always pushed education and
encouraged me to read whatever I could get my hands on. Consequently, I was
that nerdy kid who spent their lunch money at the book fair. In my freshman
year, I decided that I wanted to pursue a career in education, I just wasn't
sure how to get there. My father was an Air Force retiree, so I decided to
follow in his footsteps and get my education along the way. Fast foward a few
years and now I'm serving and educating. Between Honor Guard and Instructing, I
take care of people from cradle to grave and I couldn't be happier with where
life is taking me. The best part of it all is that I get to share my journey
with my five-year-old son, Kenneth. He's my partner in crime.”
