9/12/2012 - SHEPPARD AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- Sheppard's Combat Dining Out will be held Sept. 28 at hangar 1045 beginning at 6 p.m. This year's theme is "Training Airmen to fly, fight and win" and features the Air Force Inspector General, Lt. Gen. Stephen P. Mueller, as the guest speaker.

"This year's theme encompasses the missions of both wings at Team Sheppard, highlighting each of the wings but emphasizing one team," said Major Robert Moore, Commander 82d Security Forces Squadron and Combat Dining Out lead.

A highly anticipated aspect of the dining out is the grog bowl. Violate one of the rules of engagement and you could find yourself facing the obstacle course to the grog bowl. There will be two separate grogs (one with and one without alcohol) and new this year is the grog mixing ceremony, in which each group commander and superintendent will add something that represents their group to each of the grog bowls.

Displays representing both the 82 TRW and the 80 FTW will be present, as well as several static aircraft including F-15s and F-16s.

Dress for the occasion is Airman Battle Uniforms or flight suits for military and business casual or combat dress for civilians.

For more information, contact your unit's POC. A list is available by clicking here.

11. Participants will not engage in physical warfare (pushing, hitting, gouging, etc)
