Airmen "ACE" F-22 avionics course

Airman 1st Class Brennan Defazio, 365th Training Squadron Airman in Training, earned the ACE award upon completion of the F-22 Avionics Course at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas. He maintained a 100 percent average through eight blocks of instruction. Airman Defazio is only the third Airman to accomplish this feat since the F-22 Avionics course started in 2008. He will become a member of the 27th Aircraft Maintenance Unit at Langley Air Force Base, Va. (Courtesy photo)

Marieke van Gaalen flashes a smile Dec. 8 prior to a flight with the 88th Fighter Training Squadron at Sheppard Air Force Base. Ms. van Gaalen, a student at Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas, and a cadet in the Air Force ROTC program at the University of North Texas in Denton, was in charge of recruiting students for the detachment at her home school.
