Col. Jeffrey D. Shulman, 80th Flying Training Wing commander, and his wife, Brianne, received the General and Mrs. Jerome F. O’Malley Award for 2025. Lt. Gen. Clark J. Quinn, commander of Air Education and Training Command, presented the award to the Shulmans, recognizing them as the wing commander and spouse team whose contributions to the nation, the Air Force and the local community, best exemplify the highest ideals and positive leadership of a military couple serving in a key Air Force position.

Sheppard Air Force Base hosted its fourth annual Scary Strong powerlifting competition in October, drawing 26 athletes to Pitsenbarger Fitness Center for a meet that tested squat, bench press, and deadlift. The event not only crowned winners but also served as a launchpad to the 2026 USA Powerlifting Military, Police, and Firefighter National Championship, scheduled for March 21 in Killeen, Texas. Sheppard has sent three airmen to Military Nationals the past three years, all earning top-three finishes.
