SHEPPARD AIR FORCE BASE, Texas --
Senior
Airman Duhamel Diaz-Figueroa, 82nd Medical Operations Squadron health service
management technician and native of St. Robert, Missouri, has been in the Air
Force for two years and is the Support
Airman of the Week at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas, for the week of Nov. 1-7,
2016.
Most significant
accomplishments:
“My most significant
accomplishments would be graduating Summa Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in
criminal justice and becoming a member of the national honor society,” Diaz
said. “I also earned honor graduate in basic military training and achieved a
93 on my end of course exam for my career development course.”
Airman’s story:
“I was raised by excellent
parents who set a great example regarding work ethic and how to treat others,”
Diaz said. “My father is a retired Army Staff Sergeant who genuinely cared for
his soldiers. The way he was perceived and remembered by those he worked with
is what I hope to achieve. I come to work each day and aim to be a better team
player and model by striving to find the correct way of accomplishing tasks and
assisting others in doing the same.”

“Senior
Airman Diaz is instrumental in developing and maintaining the family care clinic
administrative duties for five providers and enabling 70,000 appointments
annually,” said Tech. Sgt. Cy Perkins, family health clinic NCO in charge. “Diaz
conducts daily check in process requirements providing services for our military
training leaders, technical training instructors, active duty permanent party
and dependents. Additionally, he is a general practice manager assistant. He maintains
the clinics access to care by assisting with template management, regulating
and creating provider’s daily schedules. He ensures providers have the required
amount of weekly bookable appointments each week. Senior Airman Diaz also manages
the medical out-processing program, ensuring all outgoing personnel are cleared
in a timely manner. He is a valuable team member who makes a difference
everyday within our patient centered medical home model and the 82nd Medical
Group.”
