Airman 1st Class Ryan Ferguson, 364th Training Squadron cables and antenna systems apprentice course student, trains on how to do a ground based belay assist tower rescue. Several situations like equipment failure or injury could leave the climber unable to descend the tower on their own. This method is the safest method of retrieving someone from the tower because it only puts the person descending at risk, no one else. (U.S. Air Force photo by Senior Airman Robert L. McIlrath)
