Sexual Assault Prevention and Response

The Sheppard Air Force Base Sexual Assault Prevention and Response team administers training and services throughout the 82nd Training Wing and the 80th Flying Training Wing. The SAFB SAPR program provides top-level support to installation personnel by executing policies established by the Department of Defense and providing guidance and tools to effectively support victims of sexual harassment and sexual assault.

MISSION

To provide assistance, advocacy, support, and empowerment to those whom have experienced sexual assault and harassment and to prevent sexual violence in our community through education and intervention.

  • All Service Branch Members, Air Force Civilians, Active Duty Dependents 18+
  • Confidential
  • Will NOT contact law enforcement or Commander
  • Can change to Unrestricted
Unrestricted Reporting
  • All Service Branch Members, Air Force Civilians, Active Duty Dependents 18+, Contractors
  • Commander and Law Enforcement will be notified
  • Notifications kept "Need to Know"
  • CANNOT change to Restricted

Sexual Assault is defined as intentional sexual contact, characterized by use of force, physical threat or abuse of authority or when the victim does not or cannot consent. Sexual assault includes rape, nonconsensual sodomy (oral or anal sex), indecent assault (unwanted, inappropriate sexual contact or fondling), or attempts to commit these acts. Sexual assault can occur without regard to gender or spousal relationship or age of victim.

Sexual Harassment is defined as a form of sex discrimination that involves unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature when any of the following occur: explicitly or implicitly used as a condition of pay or career, submission or rejection affects the environment, such conduct interferes with a person’s work performance or creates an intimidating, hostile or offensive environment.
