Cooper selected for 2006 AF women's softball team Published Nov. 9, 2006 By Airman Jacob Corbin 82nd Training Wing Public Affairs SHEPPARD AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- Team Sheppard member Tina Cooper was selected to join the Air Force Women's Softball team Aug. 15, after a week of grueling practice and try outs. "She (Cooper) is a quick study so I am sure she has raised her level of play even higher being around so many talented ball players," said Ron Brown, Lady Senators coach. "I think she will continue to grow and get better. " Cooper will now compete against the best the Army, Navy and Marine Corps have to offer in the Armed Forces Women's Softball Championship at Hill Air Force Base, Utah. While 22 people were chosen to attend tryouts, only 15 were selected for the team. Those trying out for the team did scrimmages, drills and practices to show why they should be selected. "There's a lot of new talent here and I think it's going to be a great year," said Cheryl Trapnell, assistant coach for the Air Force team. "I think that this is one of the best groups of women, attitude-wise, we've ever had here. Everyone here seems to be helping each other out and working hard." In addition to Cooper, the following were also selected for the team: Billy Hardy, Cheryl Trapnell, Dina Quanico, Kischa Scott-McCloud, Stacy Robinson, Karrie Warren, Twyla Sears, Amanda Peters, Katherine Braun, Laticia Munday, Michelle McCarty, Candace Dugo, Tomi Naglic, Amber Lonas, Amanda Snyder and JoJo Dancer.
