Sheppard had another winning Sexual Assault Awareness Month on the books!

Hopefully, you took notice of our 4-foot high, wooden-teal ribbons at the gate entrances and participated in the Target Hardening/Target Intervention classes. Some of you may have even attended our first professional symposium or picked up material at one of our information booths.

Whatever the case may be, thanks for making our awareness month campaign so successful.

Beginning this month, we will conduct a new training to replace the old annual Sexual Assault Response Coordinator training requirement - "Bystander Intervention Training."

The idea of becoming an "active bystander" is not new but rather a return to the old days. In other words, don't stand by and watch a potential dangerous situation unfold. Step in and intervene!

Not sure how? Don't worry, the SARC office will teach you.

Remember, we're here for you 24 hours a day and seven days a week. If you feel that you've been a victim of sexual assault, call the SARC office at (940) 676-7272. See you in the classroom!
