Boil Water Notice for Sheppard AFB Published Jan. 12, 2013 By TSgt Holt Bioenvironmental Engineering Sheppard AFB TX -- MEMORANDUM FOR EMPLOYEES AND PATRONS OF BLDGS 237, 239, 312, 315 FROM: 82 AMDS/CC 149 Hart St Bldg 1200 Sheppard AFB, TX 76311 SUBJECT: Boil Water Notice for Sheppard AFB, Potable Water System (PWS) ID 2430007, Wichita Falls, Texas 1. In accordance with the Texas Commission of Environmental Quality (TCEQ), Sheppard AFB is issuing a boil water notice for the employees and patrons of buildings 237 (Communications), 239 (Base Exchange), 312 (Library), and 315 (Law Office), Sheppard AFB, TX 76311 effective 11 Jan 13. On 11 Jan 2013, a water outage occurred in the building causing pressure in the water service lines to drop below 20 pounds per square inch (psi). Defense Support Services conducted the required repairs and have placed it back into service. The Bioenvironmental Engineering Office collected water samples to the state of the water quality and future actions (if required). Once these follow up actions are complete, we will either extend or rescind this notice as appropriate to maintain the health and safety of the base population. Until then, please follow the recommendations below to ensure your water is safe for consumption. 2. To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and making ice should be boiled and cooled prior to use. The water should be brought to a vigorous, rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes. In lieu of boiling, you may purchase bottled water or obtain water from some other suitable source. When it is no longer necessary to boil the water, a discontinue notice will be issued in the same manner as this notice, i.e. email, base paper, public delivery to key facilities. 3.
