Aspen Foods recalls chicken products due to salmonella contamination

The 82d AMDS Public Health flight was notified of Aspen Foods recalling approximately 1,978,680 pounds of frozen, raw, stuffed and breaded chicken product that may be contaminated with Salmonella.

The chicken product was produced between 15 April 2015 and 10 July 2015 with "best if used by" dates between 14 July 2016 and 10 October 2016; and bears the establishment number "P-1358" inside the USDA mark of inspection. Brands linked with this recall include:

· Family Favorites

· Market Day
· Oven Cravers
· Rose
· Rosebud Farm
· Roundy's Safeway Kitchens
· Schwan's Shaner's Spartan
· Sysco

This product was shipped to retail locations nationwide but Sheppard does not carry food items affected within this recall.

The company has no report of illness associated with consumption of these products to date.

Anyone concerned about an illness should contact a healthcare provider.  Customers can return the items to the store where they were purchased for a refund.
