CMSgt Jalil J. Samavarchian serves as the Command Chief of the 82nd Training Wing, Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas. As Command Chief, he represents the highest enlisted level of leadership for the command and executes the commander's mission by developing the wing's capacity for combat preparedness and professional development for the permanent party force and more than 60,000 Air Force, Army, Navy, Marine, Coast Guard, and allied students each year at Sheppard and through the wing's 63 detached units across the globe. Additionally, the Chief directly supports the mission accomplishments of the 80th Flying Training Wing as it generates 66,000 sorties annually to train combat pilots for the U.S. and its NATO allies.
Chief Samavarchian's commitment to service was solidified when he witnessed the events of September 11th, 2001, at MEPS before entering the Delayed Entry Program. He began his career in the maintenance field, serving at the unit, MAJCOM, and HAF levels. His contributions spanned maintenance and training efforts for a diverse range of aircraft, ultimately culminating in his role as the Career Field Manager. Throughout his career, he has served as a First Term Airmen Center Team Leader, Additional Duty First Sergeant, Inspector General at Air Mobility Command, and MXG Group SEL. His deployments in support of Operations Enduring Freedom and Odyssey Dawn further demonstrated his dedication.
Prior to his current assignment, he served as the Command Chief of a Data Masked organization where he led and advised all military, civilian and project contractor activity while exercising stewardship over ten billion dollars in resources across multiple locations.
