82nd Mission Support Group
The 82nd Mission Support Group provides security, emergency services, personnel support, food services, lodging, fitness, communications, contracting services, logistics, supplies, vehicle maintenance, housing, and facility maintenance for Sheppard's two wings and 17 tenants composed of more than 6,000 military, civilian and contractor personnel, 80,000 joint trainees annually and 9,000 dependents and retirees.

82nd Civil Engineer Squadron
The 82d Civil Engineer Squadron sustains the premier training installation to meet future needs of the world’s most credible Air Force. The 82d Civil Engineer Squadron delivers engineering support, construction management, facility sustainment, housing management, environmental stewardship, service contracts oversight, emergency management, and fire protection to the 82d Training and 80th Flying Training Wings; the Air Force's largest and most diverse technical training wing and Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training program.
82nd Communications Squadron
The 82nd Communications Squadron provides world-class communication and information systems. The 82nd Communications Squadron is Sheppard's portal to the world of information; enabling the development of combat capability through on-time, on-target information systems and services for the base community.
82nd Contracting Squadron
The 82nd Contracting Squadron develops and executes responsive strategies and compliant sourcing solutions to enable the global United States Air Force mission. The 82nd Contracting Squadron is responsible for awarding and administering a variety of contracts ranging from computer equipment to multimillion-dollar construction projects. This office also manages large dollar, mission-essential contracts for aircraft maintenance, food service, trainer maintenance, logistics services (vehicle operations and supply), medical support services, and civil engineering support.
82nd Logistics Readiness Squadron
The 82d LRS provides premier logistical support to the Air Force’s largest technical training wing and the Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training Program. The 82d LRS powers, sustains, and mobilizes Team Sheppard’s training capabilities and combat reach through delivery of precision logistics uniting planning, supply, fuel, and transportation functions under a single organization. LRS Total Force military, civilian, and contract personnel expeditiously enable deployment, employment, and sustainment support requirements.
82nd Force Support Squadron
The 82nd Force Support Squadron is the most widely diverse organization at Sheppard, providing more than 20 different activities to military and family members, as well as authorized civilian customers. The squadron activities generate more than a quarter of a million dollars annually in non-appropriated funds. The unit manages food services, lodging, personnel and manpower, recreational support, family services, youth programs, professional development and education. The 82nd Force Support Squadron evolved from the United States Air Force-directed mergers of Sheppard's Mission Support Squadron and Services Squadron in 2009. The merger concentrated the base's primary customer support and service functions under one command and reduced the number of flights from twelve to five.

82nd Security Forces Squadron
The 82nd Security Forces Squadron produces and deploys combat capable Airmen to protect, defend and fight to enable United States Air Force, joint and coalition missions at home and abroad. The 82nd Security Forces Squadron provides force protection for Sheppard Air Force Base and fully trained and qualified security forces personnel to Air Expeditionary Force deployments. The 82nd Security Forces Squadron provides multiple services for the base such as police services, antiterrorism, air base defense, physical security, personnel security and combat arms training. The Security Forces Squadron also operates the Sheppard Air Force Base Visitor Center and military working dog kennel.
