Colossal Cookie Drive Nets 27K Cookies

SHEPPARD AFB, Texas --  

Sheppard Air Force Base hosted the 15th annual Colossal Cookie Drive Dec. 19 – 22.

The four-day event collected more than 27,000 cookies to be distributed to Airmen-in-Training before the holiday exodus.

“We want to get them ready for the holidays,” said Denice Tilley, director of community programs. “This is a small way for us to show them that they are family here at Sheppard.”

The cookie drive is a friendly competition among the squadrons to bring in the most cookies.  

“It is the time of year for giving and that is what they want to do,” said Tilley. “We just put out the word and have no trouble getting volunteers to support the event.”

In total, 40 volunteers contributed to bagging, counting and distributing the cookies to the Airmen.
