Support Airman of the Week: SrA Gann Published Sept. 5, 2017 By Staff Reports 82nd Training Wing Public Affairs SHEPPARD AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- Senior Airman Shaun Gann, 82nd Contracting Squadron contracting specialist and native of Athens, Georgia, has been in the Air Force for five years and is the Support Airmen of the Week at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas, for the week of Sept. 5-11, 2017. Most significant accomplishments: “Firefighting would probably be my biggest accomplishment since I got here,” Gann said. “I absolutely love it and plan to do it once I am out of the service. I’ve also negotiated, administered, and managed millions of dollars’ worth of contracts for Sheppard.” Airman’s story: “I’m a contracting specialist by day, and a firefighter, mechanic, and farmer by night,” Gann said. “I’ve lived on a farm for the past few years where I help manage the property along with maintaining the equipment. I also volunteer for the local fire department and maintain the trucks there as well. It is my hobby to build diesel and gas motors for my friends’ vehicles and also go hunting, fishing, and camping.” Supervisor comments: “Senior Airman Gann manages contracts in support of both the 82nd Training Wing and the 80th Flying Training Wing,” said Staff Sgt. James Todd. “His portfolio includes large, multi-year service contracts ranging in scale from $100,000 to $1.8 million per year. He routinely meets with customers and contractors to focus requirements and provide the best possible service.”
