Sheppard is known for training the nation’s most elite aircraft maintainers, and while multi-million dollar aircraft maintenance challenges can be solved with ease around base, personal vehicle maintenance was another challenge.

From Fort Sill, Oklahoma, to Joint Base San Antonio, Texas, Kwik Kar has opened up several shops at military locations throughout the country in the past year. Sheppard recently opened its own Kwik Kar Auto Care Center operated by the Base Exchange.

“Unfortunately, five years ago the Exchange closed down the Auto Care Center at the Express that was operated by the Exchange,” said Brian Loeffler, Army and Air Force Exchange Services business tech supervisor. “It was only a matter of time that an independent contractor would open up shop again.”

The new auto service center is located on the west side of the main gate Shopette and will offer a range of services to fit automotive needs such as oil changes to brake services and much more.

“Customers have the opportunity to drop off their vehicles any time for scheduled maintenance before work or during lunch and can pick them up at their convenience,” Loeffler said. “No appointments are necessary.”

Tires are also available for purchase through Kwik Kar or by order online at shopmyexchange.com.
