SHEPPARD AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- Planning for Sheppard AFB’s 2018 Air Force Ball is underway and the committee is now accepting submissions for the official coin design.

The theme of this year’s ball will be “A walk through time, it all starts here.”

The event is scheduled for September 22, 2018, at the Wichita Falls Multi-Purpose Event Center. Details and ticket sale information will be made available in the upcoming months.

Guidelines for coin design submissions are as follows:

-Creatively capture the history and heritage of the Air Force through the years, being ever mindful of Sheppard's part in the story.

-Designs must be appropriate, feature more than one individual Air Force career field, and incorporate key Air Force events throughout history.

-The coin will serve as the ticket for the ball. Therefore, a space must be left on the coin to allow for a number.

-Less is more. Avoid adding so many features that the coin becomes overwhelming and difficult to see the details.

-Have fun with the design and get creative while incorporating this year’s theme.

Submissions and questions should be sent to Master Sgt. Timothy Covey and Master Sgt. Robert Meier, Air Force Ball Memorabilia co-chairs, at timothy.covey@us.af.mil and robert.meier@us.af.mil.
