AF selects Sheppard E-6s for promotion

SHEPPARD AIR FORCE BASE, Texas – About 180 technical sergeants assigned to Sheppard Air Force Base were among the more than 6,100 selected by the Air Force for promotion to master sergeant as part of the 18E7 promotion cycle.

The promotion rate for the 20,866 eligible Airmen was 29.60 percent. Selectees’ average time in grade was 3.77 years and time in service was 14.25 years. The average selectee overall score was 529.38, based on point averages of 10.91 for decorations, 68.37 for the promotion fitness examination and 70.87 for the specialty knowledge test. The average board score was 379.13.

Those selected for promotion will begin pinning on their new rank Aug. 1.
