44 Sheppard senior airmen to pin on fourth stripe

SHEPPARD AIR FORCE BASE, Texas – Forty-four Sheppard AFB Airmen were among the 15,669 senior airmen selected for promotion to staff sergeant as part of the 18E5 promotion cycle.

More than 30,650 senior airmen were eligible for promotion, resulting in a 51.12 percent promotion rate. The increase in promotion rate is the direct result of a growing force and the need for more Airmen in the noncommissioned officer ranks.

Airmen will begin pinning on their new rank according to their promotion number beginning Sept. 1, 2018.
