SHEPPARD AIR FORCE BASE, Texas – Construction to install an underground duct bank will soon begin, starting with the closure of G Avenue between Ninth and 10th avenues on Nov. 27, 2018.

The contractor will set up traffic control signs, barricades and fencing to close off the areas of work. Traffic will be re-routed along and Ninth and 10th avenues. Work includes demolition of the existing road and excavation, backfilling, and road repair.

The work will be performed seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for a period of three weeks. The road and sidewalk will re-open Dec. 14, weather permitting.

A duct bank is a group of piping such as PVC that is used to protect and consolidate cables.

Drivers and pedestrians are asked to respect barricades and traffic control personnel, and exercise caution while driving and walking around the construction area.  This project will be completed as quickly and safely as possible, and we ask for your patience and cooperation during the construction period.
