Civilian Mentoring Program brings TED Talks to Sheppard Published Nov. 28, 2018 By 82nd Training Wing Public Affiars SHEPPARD AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- “TED” Talks have been around for nearly 30 years, but in the past decade have become a household name due to their availability on sites such as YouTube. Under the slogan “ideas worth spreading,” TED – Technology, Entertainment, Design – seeks out speakers from all walks of life to discuss topics such as science, culture, education and leadership in a storytelling fashion. The 82nd Training Wing Civilian Mentoring Program has purchased a limited license that authorizes facilitated small group TED Talks using the Profession of Arms Center of Excellence lesson plan format. The theme for the upcoming talk is “Why Good Leaders Make You Feel Safe,” by Simon Sinek, and the facilitator slated is Mike Battaglino, 82nd TRW Training Management Course director. The event will be Dec. 4 from 3 to 4 p.m. at Bldg. 920, room C117, which is the Sexual Assault Prevention classroom.
