JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-RANDOLPH, Texas -- The seventh episode of "Developing Mach-21 Airmen," Air Education and Training Command's professional development podcast series, was released April 15.

In the episode, Master Sgt. Bryan Dudley, the emergency manager training flight chief for the 368th Training Squadron at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. and a detachment of the 82nd Training Wing based at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas, talks all things related to innovation and the future shaping of the learning environment.

Dudley goes in-depth on the curriculum development process the 368th TRS used to reimagine what their initial skills training course looked like, in fact leading to a revamp the emergency management career field didn’t envision when they started.

Specifically, Dudley talks to how the idea was hatched to include buy-in from the career field; how they overcame obstacles like manpower and time to do the revamp; and the work they did with their functional community to source subject matter experts from across the career field to include the Air Force Civil Engineer Center as they prepare to roll out a new curriculum in May 2019.

The professional development podcasts are designed to help communicate and inform Total Force Airmen across the globe on relevant, timely topics related to the recruiting, training, education and development fields and can be listened to on the government network on the AETC website, or via mobile application as well as on Apple Podcasts (iTunes). For Android or Google mobile users, the podcast can be found on their favorite third-party podcast phone application.

Future episodes are set to cover a wide range of topics, including a look at a military training leader from Keesler Air Force Base, Miss., and her personal story of resiliency and growing as an Airmen; what the learning environment is heading towards in the year 2030; integrated officer and enlisted training within the Security Forces career field and much more.
