NORWEGIAN FOOT MARCH EVENT

  • Norwegian Foot March

What:  The Norwegian Foot March, or Marsjmerket, is a Norwegian armed forces skill badge that is earned. Participants had to complete, in uniform with boots, an 18.6 mile (30 kilometers) ruck march within 4 hours and 30 minutes (different times depending on gender and age group) while carrying a 25 pound (11 kilograms) ruck sack.

When:  18 February 2023

Time: 0700 - Ruck Weigh-ins begin at ENJJPT Building

0800 - Foot March Begins outside ENJJPT Building

FREE - open to all military members!

Completion of the Foot March results in a signed certificate from the Norwegian Embassy and eligibility to wear the Norwegian Foot March badge on your uniform!

April 2023- The North Chapel (Bldg. 810) will close for HVAC renovation

All religious services will move to the Landing Zone (Bldg. 450)

  • Catholic Mass will be at 0900 on Sundays
  • LDS services will be at 1400 on Sundays
  • Protestant (LZ ) services will be at 1100 on Sundays (NEW TIME)
  • Wiccan/Pagan meeting will be at 1800 on the first Monday of the month

 

The use of North Chapel will be completely suspended until the completion of

HVAC installation.  ECD:  January 2024

SAFETY CORNER – WINTER FIRE SAFETY

If you get caught in a fire, do you know what to do? Ensure you and your family have an escape route and plan in place to get out quickly when the unexpected happens. Click on the link below for tips on what to do and read on below for more ways to stay safe at home!

Quick Tips:

-Test smoke alarms monthly, and change the batteries at least once per year

-Test Carbon Monoxide alarms when you test your smoke alarms

-Prep your furnace; the weather can change rapidly, especially overnight temps!

-Inspect your fireplace yearly; hire a pro for any repairs

-Keep portable generators outside as far away from the home as possible
