82d Medical Group Welcomes New Commander Published June 22, 2023 By 2d Lt Lauren Niemi 82 TRW Public Affairs The 82nd Medical Group welcomed their new commander on June 16, 2023, at the clinic. Colonel Sarah Evans took command of the 82nd Medical Group during a change of command ceremony at Sheppard Air Force Base June 21, 2023. Brigadier General Lyle Drew, 82d Training Wing Commander, officiated the ceremony, during which Col. Felicia Burks relinquished command. In her remarks, Evans recognized those who organized and participated in the ceremony before thanking the Team Sheppard community for the warm welcome and the opportunity to lead. Before giving the stage to Evans, Burks spoke about the unit’s accomplishments over the past two years, including fighting against the COVID-19 pandemic, the implementation of MHS GENESIS, and the opening of the new clinic. Burks also mentioned how her time as MDG commander was made special by Team Sheppard and how she hoped that Evans would enjoy her time here as well.
