AIR FORCE BALL

Permanent party, retirees and civil service members of Team Sheppard are invited to the Air Force Ball by Brig. Gen. George T.M. Dietrich III on the 21st of October.

Saturday September 23rd

1230: Trios bowling tournament open to all bowlers $75.00 per team

1230: Womens only singles tournament Top 5 scores bowl in Step ladder finals $25.00 per bowler.

1930: 9 Pin no tap tournament anyone can participate. $25.00 per person side pots and tournament prize money to be won. Come bowl and have some fun. Bring your friends.

 

FROM THE EDUCATION CENTER

Beginning 2 Oct. there are new testing times. FAA Testing will be administered on Thursdays at 0800 and 1300. DLPT will be administered on Tuesdays & Wednesdays at 0800 and 1300 TBAS will be administered on Tuesdays & Wednesdays at 0800 and 1300.

Beginning 9 Oct 23, the education center will be opening a satellite office in Bldg 1900, room 2208 (near ALS). The office will be open on Mondays & Wednesdays from 0800 - 1400. For any questions and concerns, please contact the Education Center at 676 - 6231.

As a reminder, the Call for Topics is now open for the 2024 Learning Professionals’ Consortium (LPC-24) with a deadline of NLT COB 30 September.

This two-day event will take place in-person the week of March 11, 2024, in San Antonio (specific date/venue TBD). The event gives attendees the opportunity to learn best practices, hear successful collaboration stories, and gain solutions to learning issues.

SAFETY CORNER – UNIVERSAL WASTE DISPOSAL

With the UEI just a few weeks away, keep in mind the proper ways to dispose of universal wastes! CE/Environmental disposes of both universal and hazardous wastes produced via required base processes, not produced from personal usage.

Quick Tips

  • Can include but not limited to batteries, paint, and fluorescent lightbulbs.
  • Fluorescent lightbulbs must be turned in within in 72hrs/3 duty days.
  • All waste must be accepted by Environmental personnel, cannot be dropped off.
  • Bring waste to Bldg. 2141 between 0830-1000 on M/W/F.

Wichita Falls Horse Committee is having their annual horse Expo at the JS Bridwell Arena

and looking for volunteers. This year is a salute to Veteran Equestrians with Disabilities. It is a 2-day event and are looking for volunteers to assist in the arena, help with gates, and other various tasks. It will start Saturday 11 Nov at 9 am and again Sunday12 Nov at 9 am.
