Good morning Team Sheppard,

It’s time to give back through the CFC! This year’s goal is $30,767

Ways to Give:

  • You can give through payroll deduction.

Designate recurring gifts from each paycheck for a greater impact over time.

  • You can give to multiple, vetted charities.

Make all of your charitable donations and pledge volunteer hours in one place.

  • You can give for greater impact. The world is a better place when we give together.
  • You can GIVE HAPPY! Studies show that when we give happiness, we get happy too.

Be on the lookout for other ways to give back this year – whether it’s through donating, volunteering, engaging at events, or sharing your story. GIVE HAPPY today at

“Know your limits, but never stop trying to break them.” – Kyle Maynard

Story: Kyle Maynard is an American speaker, author, and mixed martial arts athlete, known for becoming the first quadruple amputee to ascend Mount Kilimanjaro without the aid of prosthetics. He is also founder of the No Excuses CrossFit gym. He was born as a congenital amputee, his arms stopping at his elbows and his legs at his knees.

This week’s color is TEAL, so we ask that you wear teal in support of National Disability Employment Awareness Month.

What happens around the campfire doesn’t always stay at the campfire. Don’t get caught in a hot situation only to be a story told for years to come! Consider some tips from Smokey Bear to enjoy a safe night under the stars!

Quick Tips

  • Do NOT build a fire in hazardous, dry conditions.
  • Keep fire pits at least 15ft from tents, shrubs, trees, or other flammables.
  • Consider the wind & direction when choosing the location for your fire.
  • Ensure to have a source of water, a bucket, and shovel available at all times.
  • Don’t burn dangerous objects like aerosol cans, aluminum cans, or glass.
  • Keep the fire to a manageable size.
  • Remember: if it’s too hot to touch, it’s too hot to leave.
