82 TRW Inspection Manager is commander's "Wingman of Choice" for May 20-24

Tech. Sgt. Anna Mejia, an inspection manager for the 82nd Training Wing, is the commander's wingman of choice for the week of May 20-24

The 82nd Training Wing "Commander's Wingman of Choice" award program is the commander's way of acknowledging Airmen for a job well done and to recognize Airmen who exemplify the spirit of the program.

Criteria for consideration include outstanding duty performance, community involvement and exemplary leadership

Years of service and time on Sheppard: 15 years in the AF and three years on Sheppard

Spouse- Special Agent Tony Mejia, Active Duty (OSI) and 3 kids (Camille-4 yrs old and twins, Lucas and Gabrielle -2 yrs old)

Education:  Community College of the Air Force degrees in Transportation (2004) and Electronics Systems Technology (2004); bachelor's degree in Organizational Management, with a minor in Business Administration and a concentration in Computer Science from Ashford University (2010).  Currently attending Ashford University for her aster's in Organizational Management with an emphasis in Leadership; has completed 21 hours so far and will be done this fall.

What inspires you: Her family.

Future goals
: Her goal is to run a half marathon before her 35th birthday, this fall. She would also like to be a NCOA instructor.

Greatest accomplishment
: Her three children.

Hobbies, off-duty interests
: She likes to run and is also a Team Beachbody Coach and helps others achieve their health goals through nutrition and fitness. When she is not busy with work and school, she is traveling with her family.

Why is this person the Wingman of Choice? Tech. Sgt. Mejia has been in the IG for 2 years, and is headed back to 82 CS this month (May). While she's been here, she took a previously "Marginal-rated" self-assessment program to an "Outstanding" rating during the last CI. She was a professional performer during the CI and was coined as the NCO Top Performer by the AETC IG.

Additionally, she completed NCO Academy, Course 14, Senior Enlisted Joint PME (SEJPME) and was awarded the Professional Manager Certification through CCAF. She is currently finishing up a master's degree in Organizational Management with an emphasis in Leadership. On top of that, her husband is on his second 6-month deployment since arriving here (AFOSI), leaving her with 3 children under 4 years old at home. She's also been extremely involved with the SARC program, to include teaching self-defense classes.
