AFAF, one of only two official Air Force fundraisers, is a six-week campaign that aims to provide support to Air Force personnel and their families. The donations collected will go to the Air Force Village, Air Force Aid Society, the General and Mrs. Curtis E. Lemay Foundation and the Air Force Enlisted Village. Sheppard's 2013 fundraising goal was $85,345. The end amount was $98,848.27. "It took a team to do it," said Master Sgt. Gail Pinson, 982nd Maintenance Squadron and AFAF project officer, referring to the unit project managers who helped raise money for AFAF. Many of those who participated in the fundraising effort were satisfied that the standards were not only met, but exceeded as well. "Our key workers did a great a job with inspiring others," said Tech. Sgt. Kristopher Eddy, 82nd Training Group UPO.
