Her strict attention to detail has sustained one of the lowest untestable rates of any large base in the AF for the past seven years. Laura also coordinated all civilian drug sample collections to include supervisor notification, result updates, and 100% accountability. As a result, the Sheppard program has consistently met or exceeded quotas for all Air Force, Guard, Navy, marine, Army, Testing Designated Position civilians. She assisted in training the new GSU Drug Testing Administrative Managers (DTPAM) and over 300 detailed personnel. Finally, Laura, and the two other members of DDR planned and executed a "self-help" relocation of the entire DDR function, consisting of 12 truckloads/4K pounds of equipment & supplies--which averted a $5K bill. Commander's name and comments: Lt Col Krystal Murphy Laura is an inspiration to everyone who meets her! Her customer skills are unparalleled. She exudes a positive attitude and still greets everyone with a smile and cheerful greeting--after 8 years! This is a remarkable feat since most of her "customers" arrive at her door reluctantly, to complete a rather unpalatable task--Drug Demand Reduction is really a pretty thankless job most days. The unit trusted agents often ask for her by name when they have questions or concerns.
