Earth Day will be celebrated around the Air Force on April 22. "Anybody can show up," said Darcas Pena, 82nd Civil Engineering Squadron DS2 Earth Day point of contact. "It's informative for all ages." Pena also sees this event as a part of the bigger effort to help make the Air Force more environmentally responsible. "Since all Air Force bases use green products we build a market for it," Pena said. "It's going to help keep our Earth healthy and safe for future use." Pena looks at events like this as an opportunity to educate a diverse audience. "It represents the United States Air Force and shows that if the U.S. government can recycle, so can everybody else," said Leslie Pena, an environmental technician for the 82nd CES.
