National Public Health Week runs April 1 - 5 and the 82nd Medical Group Public Health flight wants to help provide helpful tips and information every day during the week to help build a healthier community.

In 1995, former President William Jefferson Clinton proclaimed the first full week in April as National Public Health Week (NPHW).

Since then, the public health community has focused on recognizing the contributions of public health, highlighting issues related to our communities and improving the health of our nation.

Each year, NPHW focuses on a different theme.

This year's theme is "Public Health is ROI: Save Lives, Save Money".

The 2013 NPHW theme was developed to highlight the value of prevention and the importance of well-supported  public health systems in preventing disease, saving lives and curbing health care spending.

This year, we hope you'll join us in championing the work of public health and its significant return on investment (ROI).

In honor of National Public Health Week, the 82nd Aerospace Medicine Squadron Public Health flight would like to highlight this year's theme: "Public Health is ROI: Save Lives, Save Money"

Monday, April 1

Topic: Ensuring a Safe, Healthy Home for Your Family: Health and safety begin at home. Make prevention a fun family tradition.
