The 82nd Training Wing "Commander's Wingman of Choice" award program is the commander's way of acknowledging Airmen for a job well done and to recognize Airmen who exemplify the spirit of the program. Sergeant First Class Jara distinguished himself by demonstrating outstanding professional skills, knowledge, and inter-service leadership through the execution of his duties in support of D Company, Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas, and the local community of Wichita Falls. Leading by example, he developed and established trust and communication between the Civil Engineer school houses and Delta Company. In fact, his collaboration skills and dedication to the training mission were pivotal in ensuring over 750 Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen received continuous world-class training over the last 8 months. In addition, SFC Jara just recently received the Army Engineer Association Bronze De Fleury Medal, one of the Army Engineers highest awards for his dedication to the Engineer Corps and his soldiers. At one time or another, Sergeant First Class Jara has superbly filled a myriad of leadership positions in my Company to include Platoon Sergeant (MTL), Operations Sergeant, First Sergeant and Senior Training Manager. In my book, I can never thank him enough for the outstanding efforts he has displayed in making our soldiers the best they can be.
