Fisher is 82 TRW commander's "Wingman of Choice" for March 18-22 Published March 19, 2013 82nd Training Wing Public Affairs SHEPPARD AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- Beverly Fisher of the 363rd Training Squadron was named the the 82nd TRW "Commander's Wingman of Choice" award winner for the week of March 18-22. The 82nd Training Wing "Commander's Wingman of Choice" award program is the commander's way of acknowledging Airmen for a job well done and to recognize Airmen who exemplify the spirit of the program. Criteria for consideration include outstanding duty performance, community involvement and exemplary leadership. Go by name: Beverly Duty title: Training Manager, Aircraft Armament Systems Hometown: Lindsay, Texas Years of service and time on Sheppard: 20 years Family: Husband and three children Education: Midwestern State University, Bachelor of Science What inspires you: I know that it is cliché, but I am inspired by my family. I have a husband and three children who have all heard about "lazy government employees." I am inspired daily to show my family that everyone has a responsibility to live up to the full potential that God has granted that person; not merely to the standards expected by the general populace. Future goals: My future goal is to reduce overall equipment costs within the Armament technical training program. The equipment reduction drill we performed in the summer of 2012, made me realize that there are additional, hidden costs with every piece of equipment on this base. I want to find a way to make that information readily available. It is only with comprehensive information that Training Managers working with the course personnel can make an informed, cost-efficient decision for their applicable courses. Greatest accomplishment: My greatest accomplishment has been the delivery of two MQ-9 aircraft to Sheppard AFB with one of them pledged to support Armament training. Both the F-22 and the F-35 have large contracts from the Pentagon in place to support technical training, but the MQ-9 program is too small and did not receive that level of support. Starting back in 2009, I worked diligently with the 2W1X1 community to push this issue to the forefront with the MQ-9 System Program Office (SPO). There were numerous obstacles but we all worked together to overcome those setbacks and found a viable, sustainable solution that will provide the necessary MQ-9 training to the field. Hobbies, off-duty interests: Water sports, fishing, soccer, gardening Reason for submission: Beverly's motivation and drive personifies her. She has a there are no issues, only opportunities to succeed attitude. She willingly takes on additional responsibilities and gives every task assigned 110 percent effort 100 percent of the time. Commander's name and comments: Beverly has unmatched drive and determination. She continually demonstrates that by every job receiving an all-out effort.. Beverly is ambitious when it comes to ensuring AiT are inspired by top-notch training and she meets every hurdle placed in front of her with an enthusiasm aimed at only one outcome - acquiring total success. - Oliver S.
