82 FSS civilian is 82 TRW commander's "Wingman of Choice" for March 4-8 Published Feb. 25, 2013 82nd Training Wing Public Affairs SHEPPARD AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- David Shawver of the 82nd Force Support Squadron was named the the 82nd TRW "Commander's Wingman of Choice" award winner for the week of March 4-8. The 82nd Training Wing "Commander's Wingman of Choice" award program is the commander's way of acknowledging Airmen for a job well done and to recognize Airmen who exemplify the spirit of the program. Criteria for consideration include outstanding duty performance, community involvement and exemplary leadership. Future goals: Possibly working on an MBA after my wife finishes her PhD (in two years), work for the Air Force Agency. Getting back in shape. Greatest accomplishment: Getting married, having a daughter, striving to have a marriage like my parents had. Getting my degree, second in my family to do so. Being proud to have a 30-year career in sales/ marketing. Being ask to serve on the board for Beacon Lighthouse for the Blind. Hobbies, off-duty interests: Water skiing (barefoot), tournament racquet ball, golf, spending time at the lake cabin with family and friends. Since being hired, David has raised $1.3 million and his finalized 2012 CY sponsorship total was $307,901 (this is almost 10 times his salary). He exceeded Freedom Fest goals by securing over $50,500 in cash with $132,000 total including in-kind, making the event zero cost for the base. David co-created Santa's Sheppard visit with $3,800 in sponsorship and over 1,000 people attended the event. He also created a video tournament at the Airman's Club with $2,800 in sponsorship to make it a quarterly event.
