Seekamp is "Wingman of Choice" for Feb. 25-March 1

SHEPPARD AIR FORCE BASE, Texas --  Mike Seekamp of the 82nd Training Wing Safety office was named the the 82nd TRW "Commander's Wingman of Choice" award winner for the week of Feb. 25-March 1.

The 82nd Training Wing "Commander's Wingman of Choice" award program is the commander's way of acknowledging Airmen for a job well done and to recognize Airmen who exemplify the spirit of the program.

Criteria for consideration include outstanding duty performance, community involvement and exemplary leadership.

Why is this person the Wingman of Choice?  Mike is the primary safety specialist providing inspection oversight, mishap investigation and safety prevention training for the 80 FTW, 82 MSG and 365 TRS...the most on staff!  As Wing Risk Management (RM) Advisor, he ensures Sheppard members receive training at the appropriate level - amidst RMIS system training outages - rated OUSTANDING in May '12 UCI.  Singlehandedly planned/scheduled the highly successful "Street Smart" Safe Driving Event; lauded by the Air Force Safety Center - garnered training valued at $12K at no cost to Sheppard!

Commander's comments: We're submitting Mike for this recognition because he "brings his lunch pail" every day and humbles us with his work ethic, day in and day out! Whether it's being the first to volunteer to respond to the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) during a contingency or to gather up the office trash cans, Mike steps up to the plate.
