The Army and Air Force Exchange Service has completed renovations to the Mini-Mall Sheppard Troop Store located building 704. The renovations were made to increase the dining options for customers on base.

Arlene Summerhill, Sheppard Troop store manager, was thrilled to see the addition of a "Snack Avenue" to the store.

"The snack avenue project was added to the facility to enhance the "grab and go" concept," Summerhill said. "It allows the customer to come in and grab food or drinks and leave right away, adding convenience."

Some of the new items offered on the "Snack Avenue" are the roller grill, hotdogs, tornados stuffed bread sticks, hot deli sandwiches, cold sandwiches, salads and four types of sushi, cold drinks, milkshake machine and a coffee bar.

"The new milkshake machine is a top seller and has sparked a lot of interest," Summerhill said. "The machine comes with several different flavors of ice cream. You select your flavor, put your ice cream into the machine and blend it to your liking."

Another completed project in the Mini Mall is the addition of the "Wing Zone", which features prepared-to-order chicken wings, fingers and chicken sandwiches.

Alex Foronda, mini-mall food court manager is excited about the new store concept, which will bring more choices and flavors to the mix.

"Along with Anthony's Pizza, Taco Bell, Popeye's and now Wing Zone, this will be a win-win situation for all of our customers," Foronda said. "The service members and civilians are what we're here for...they are our main purpose."

The mini-mall hours of operation are Sunday - Thursday 10:30 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. and 10:30 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
