ANOTHER "Excellent" for the 82nd MDG Published May 21, 2012 By Capt. Brittany Martin 82nd Training Wing Public Affairs SHEPPARD AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- The 82nd Medical Group scored an "Excellent" rating on the Health Services Inspection conducted by the Air Force Inspector General last week, wrapping up a series of inspections for Sheppard Air Force Base that started April 30. According to the Air Force Inspection Agency Web site, the HSI is designed to evaluate medical readiness and assess the quality, availability and management of unit health care. The 82nd MDG earned an overall 91 percent with "Excellent" ratings in Expeditionary Medical Operations and In-Garrison Medical Operations and an "Outstanding" in Oversight Management. The HSI was accomplished in addition to the medical programs inspected during the 82nd Training Wing Compliance Inspection the previous week. During the wing inspection, Plans, Medical Contingency Response, Disease Containment/Public Health, Suicide Prevention and Aerospace Physiology were looked at and each earned an "Excellent." Col. D. Scott Guermonprez, 82nd MDG commander, thanked the entire group for their efforts, but several individuals were singled out during the inspection for their work. The AFIA IG coin was given to Maj. Adrienne Clark and the 82nd MDG Simulation Lab team, consisting of Capt. Robert Sherman, Master Sgt. Brian Stavely, Tech. Sgt. Kawana Jackson and Staff Sgt. Rebecca Cassidy. Guermonprez coined Maj. Richard Uva, Capt. Shannon Hunt, Master Sgt. Brandy Rowe, Tech. Sgt. Trent West, Staff Sgt. Isha Bedenfield and Staff Sgt. William O'Brien for their work. The AFIA IG Outstanding Performers were Lt. Col. Zina Crump, 1st Lt. Susan Johnston and Tech. Sgt. Justin Hannaford. The inspection team also gave letters of appreciation to Maj Adrienne Clark, Staff Sgt. Kristina Ilderton, Staff Sgt. Louis Lough, Staff Sgt. Kinyada Johnson, Staff Sgt. Darcy Demoret, Senior Airman Carolann Belden, Senior Airman Katia Aldana-Cordon, Senior Airman Andre Elam, Airman 1st Class Abigail McKelvey, Airman 1st Class Tyler Maceachern and Airman 1st Class Allison Freeman.
