80 FTW proudly announces Quarterly Award winners Published Jan. 25, 2012 By 2nd Lieutenant Sara Harper 82nd Training Wing Public Affairs SHEPPARD AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- The 80th Flying Training Wing announced the fourth quarter award winners during a luncheon at the Sheppard Club, Jan. 25. Awards were presented by Col. Dieter Bareihs, 80th Flying Training Wing commander, and Chief Master Sgt. Phillip Browning, 80th Flying Training Wing command chief. To begin the award ceremony, more than 70 guests and nominees representing four nations, stood as the national anthems for Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and the U.S. were played. Bareihs thanked everyone for attending to support the nominees and for all the hard work put forth in the everyday mission of training world-class pilots for the NATO alliance. Before concluding the ceremony, Bareihs spoke directly to award winners. "You represent the best in the 80th Flying Training Wing for the fourth quarter," he said. "Thank you for what you do and the example that you set for others." Bareihs spoke to the quality of the wing shown during the award competition. "I continue to be impressed with your work ethic, commitment, performance and dedication to our mission," said Bareihs. "The competition was fierce, and it was not an easy decision."
