The Sheppard Legal Office now offers walk-in legal assistance hours every Friday morning from 9-10 a.m. for legal needs not related to wills. The preparation of wills, living wills and advanced medical directives will remain on appointment only basis.

The legal assistance program is a free service designed to help servicemembers with a wide range of legal issues. Topics outside the scope of legal assistance include business ventures, in court representation, assistance in claims against the Air Force or advice relating to administrative or criminal actions.

Those eligible for the Legal Assistance Program may schedule a 30-minute private consultation with a licensed attorney to discuss their issue. Individuals eligible for legal assistance must have a valid military identification card and be an active duty member or dependent, a Reserve or Guard member on active duty or dependent, a retired military member or dependent or qualify under a unique circumstance.

The Air Force Legal Assistance website, https://aflegalassistance.law.af.mil, is an additional resource servicemembers have to obtain general information on a number of legal topics, and links to other helpful materials. Information on the website is for educational and informational purposes only. The website cannot replace consultation with the local judge advocate general, and individuals should never rely solely on the website when making decisions.

The legal office is located in Bldg. 315, on F Avenue next to the base library. Notary services are provided on a walk-in basis Monday-Friday 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Legal assistance appointments are available Monday-Thursday 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Friday at 9 a.m.
