Sheppard Clinic, local pharmacies now administering flu vaccines

The Sheppard Immunization Clinic has a moderate supply of flu vaccine on hand and are available on a walk-in basis for active duty members, beneficiaries including retirees, civilians and contractors.

The clinic hours are 7:30-11:30 a.m. and 1-4 p.m. Monday through Friday with early closures on Wednesdays at 3 p.m.

Vaccinations are also available at several local TRICARE-authorized pharmacies.

Vaccinations must be administered by a certified pharmacist to qualify for no cost. To get a flu vaccination, present a military identification card at any of the following local pharmacies:
  • CVS on Southwest Parkway, for ages 14 and older, no prescription needed, must call to schedule
  • CVS on Seymour Highway for ages 9 and older, no prescription needed, available everyday
  • CVS on Jacksboro Highway, for ages 14 and older, no prescription needed, must make an appointment
  • Walgreens on Southwest Parkway, for ages 9 and older, no prescription needed, available 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Walgreens on Kell Boulevard, for ages 9 and older, no prescription needed, available during regular store hours
  • Walgreens on 9th Street, for ages 9 and older, no prescription needed
  • United Supermarket on Jacksboro Highway, for ages 14 and older, prescription needed
  • United Supermarket on Old Iowa Park Road, for ages 7 and older, no prescription needed
  • United Supermarket on Kell and Fairway, for ages 4 and older, no prescription needed for ages 7 and older
Wal-Mart does not have a pharmacist administering the vaccination at this time. Anyone using this facility will incur a cost associated with the vaccination.
