The 82nd Force Support Squadron will hold town hall meetings at the Base Theater Oct. 25-26 at 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. to discuss new recruitment and application processes for federal civilian employees.

The Air Force will launch the Single Staffing Tool Nov. 15 for current permanent Air Force employees who want to be considered for other positions at Sheppard and across the Air Force. The new hiring process standardizes the department-wide business process other federal agencies and the private sector already use.

The new procedure will make one vacancy announcement, provide one method to apply and give one referral certificate that will be issued to supervisors.

Air Force vacancy announcements will be posted on the USA jobs website at www.usajobs.gov. There will be applications to fill out that will need to be submitted with a resume. This is the same process external candidates use to apply for positions.

The new tool applies to all Air Force installations except Air Force Materiel Command bases, Luke and Hurlburt Air Force bases.

Employees interested in employment opportunities at these locations will continue self-nominating at the Air Force Personnel Center Secure Civilian Employment website at https://ww2.afpc.randolph.af.mil/Resweb/ until further notice.

Civilian employees are highly encouraged to begin developing resumes that highlight knowledge, skills and abilities based on employment history for future career opportunities. The Airman & Family Readiness Center offers classes in resume building processes. Call (940) 676-4358 to schedule an appointment.
