Members of Team Sheppard explored opportunities to impact their future careers by attending the annual Education Fair at the Community Activity Center June 10 and 11.

Representatives from almost 50 schools shared their offers with more than 900 aspiring students from all sides of Team Sheppard including servicemembers, spouses and dependents, and retirees.

Tom Handley, 82nd Force Support Squadron Education Fair coordinator, said the event made collecting information more convenient for those who attended.

"This was a perfect opportunity for Team Sheppard to come out and 'shop' for their education," he said. "Having such a wide selection of schools and programs in the same place will allow the students to compare and contrast more effectively and with more convenience."

Mr. Handley said schools from various locations attended, offering numerous programs for military members and their families.

"We have staff from all types of schools here," he said. "Representatives have traveled from all over the country to help students understand their programs. This will contribute to the students' overall decision of which school is for them."

Christina Dancz, a military spouse and college student, said the Education Fair representatives were especially helpful because they were prepared with military-specific offers.

"I appreciated the Education Fair being held at Sheppard because the school staff seemed to know exactly how to assist us," she said. "They know we're of military backgrounds. They already know the questions we'll ask and they're equipped with the answers. I didn't expect that there would be so many schools willing to cater to military members."
