April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month Published April 1, 2010 By Stephanie Armel 82nd Training Wing Sexual Assault Response Coordinator office SHEPPARD AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- Sheppard's Sexual Assault Response Coordinator office has planned several activities this month to combat sexual assault and related crimes by promoting prevention through special activities and public education during Sexual Assault Awareness Month. This year's theme for SAAM, "Hurts one; Affects all," serves as a reminder that the crime of sexual assault not only affects the victim, but ripples out to include family, friends, co-workers, and the AF mission. The SARC office will host the events for the month as follows: · Red Flag Campaign, April 1 · Awareness Tables at BX/Mini Mall April 7, 14, 21, 28 · Target Hardening Video Viewing, April 12-16 · Target Hardening Class, April 9 · Target Intervention Class, April 23 · SARC Professional Symposium, April 27 · Sex Signals, May 1 The SARC's mission takes center stage this month with the ambition to help all of Team Sheppard personnel champion the culture of being a good Wingman, become active bystanders and making good choices.
