SFS patrolmen disarm Airman Published March 8, 2010 82nd Training Wing Public Affairs SHEPPARD AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- Airmen from the 82nd Security Forces Squadron disarmed a man March 7 at 9:20 p.m. after they received report of someone carrying a weapon at Bldg. 776. No shots were fired and no one was injured during the incident. The call came in at about 9:08 p.m. that a man was walking around outside the building with weapon. 82nd SFS patrolmen set up a perimeter around the building and began their search. It was later learned that the weapon was a shotgun. The armed suspect was confronted by SFS Airmen and was taken into custody. As part of procedure, Sheppard AFB was locked down shortly after the call came in. Gates re-opened shortly before midnight. After officials conducted a 100-percent check to ensure all persons in the dorm were accounted for, Airmen were allowed to return to their rooms.
