Base youth basketball compete in shoot-out

SHEPPARD AIR FORCE BASE, Texas --  The Sheppard Youth Basketball leagues participated in a "Shoot-Out" this weekend that had more than 50 participants shooting from various Hot- Shots on the floor and competing in a free throw contest. Each youth picked a parent to participate in the event.

The event, provided t-shirts for each competitor and a medal for 1st and 2nd place in ages 9-10 and 11-12.

"The event was successful and fun for our kids," the director of the event said. " I think everyone had a great time. The parents made this happen. Their participation was key to making this a great day for our basketball program. I also want to thank the volunteers, coaches and Union Square for putting time and money into this event."

Hot Shots:
- 9-10 year olds: 1, Cade and Tre Baham; 2, Kyle and Aaron Gaughan
-11-12 year olds: 1, Wesley Wilson and Reggie Moore; 2, Drew Yanez and Joe Perez

Free Throw contest:
-9-10 year olds: 1, Nicolo and Palo Manno; 2, Ruben and Elliot Lugo-Garza
-11-12 year olds: 1, Drew Yanez and Joe Perez; 2, Jalen and Greg Tate
