"We are thrilled to offer an array of unique vendors and festive entertainment as we ring in the Christmas spirit for an exceptional cause - to offer scholarships to America's future," said Mrs. Audrey Pounds, Hangar Holiday Chairperson. "This Hangar Holiday promises to be bigger and better than ever before and we welcome everyone to come out and enjoy this free, fun-filled family event." The 2009 Hangar Holiday vendors will include jewelry, arts, crafts, quilts, collectibles, wreaths, pottery, dolls, baskets, food, and military collectibles. "We are extremely grateful for the support we received from last year's event, which was a tremendous success," said Mrs. Dana Mihaly, President, Sheppard Officers' Spouses' Club. "The Sheppard Officers' Spouses Club was overjoyed to donate more than $18,000 last year in scholarship money to promising students pursuing a college education." The event is open to the public free of charge on Saturday, November 14 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Sunday, November 15 from 12 to 5 p.m. Please enter through the Missile Gate at Sheppard Air Force Base and proceed to Hangar 1045. This free event, which traditionally welcomes between 10,000 and 15,000 guests, will also include performances by the Airmen Choir and the Precision and Weapons Drill Team as well as an appearance by Santa Claus. Proceeds from the event will be donated to the Sheppard Officers' Spouses' Club (SOSC) scholarship program for promising young adults. Hangar Holiday began in 1986 with 50 vendors. Over the years, the event has expanded to occupy the largest hangar at Sheppard Air Force Base.
