Moreau leaves advice during last visit before retirement Published June 29, 2009 By Airman 1st Class Candy Miller 82nd Training Wing Public Affairs SHEPPARD AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- Chief Master Sgt. Paul Moreau provided words of advice and guidance for permanent party Airmen and Airmen in Training June 25 during his last visit to Sheppard as the 2nd Air Force command chief. The chief said the "secret of life" for enlisted Airmen is simple by following his key observations. "Get educated as fast as you can," he said. "Get your (Community College of the Air Force) and bachelor's degree as fast as you can. Live our core values as hard as you can. That's the key to the kingdom for our future." But there's more to it than that, he told a group of military training leaders June 24. He said it is up to higher ranking Airmen to cultivate future enlisted leaders of the Air Force. "We have to think about how to develop these Airmen," Chief Moreau said. The chief said there are also two areas Airmen should embrace that will help them become better leaders and Airmen: the core values and the Airman's Creed. "I know my Airman's Creed," he said. "I live everything I say." The chief also cited the vast improvements in classroom technology as a tool to make today's Airmen even better. He added that leadership should "harness" new technology quickly to ensure Airmen can continue to fulfill their mission. "Technology is changing how we defend our country," Chief Moreau said. "It will come even quicker." Chief Moreau will retire July 17 after 30 years of service. He spent most of his career as an intelligence analyst before becoming the command chief master sergeant at the 17th Training Wing, Goodfellow Air Force Base, Texas.
