SHEPPARD AIR FORCE BASE, Texas --  Air Force officials selected 7,724 of 37,172 eligible staff sergeants for promotion to technical sergeant for a selection rate of 20.78 percent, according to the Air Force Personnel Center.

The average cut-off score for those selected was 319.69, which was based on the following point averages: 40.54 for time in grade, 23.95 for time in service, 133.29 for enlisted performance reports, 5.36 for decorations, 67.67 for Promotion Fitness Examination and 56.78 Skills Knowledge Test score, according to the AFPC.

More than 140 members are Sheppard Airmen.
