Services pampers women with Girls Night Out Published March 25, 2009 By Airman Adawn Kelsey 82nd Training Wing Public Affairs SHEPPARD AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- The 82nd Services Squadron held a Girl's Night Out on March 19, providing all females with four full hours of relaxation and pampering. Women living at Sheppard and their friends sampled products and services from businesses in the Wichita Falls area as well as some of the services that are provided here on base. Girl's Night Out is to bring the women of Sheppard and the community together and to let them know what services that they have out there as well as here on base, said Marlene Diaz the manager of the Sheppard Club. "I'm new to Sheppard," said Ms. Diaz. "I came from New York and I was thinking to myself what can I do to bring the women from Sheppard and the community together? And I thought what could be better to bring the ladies together than a girl's night out? I wanted to create an atmosphere for a night of relaxation and beauty." Some of the services included beer and wine tasting, food and custom candy tasting, spa services, cosmetics, hair and nail salon products, and much more. Businesses handed out savings coupons and samples of their products for the women to test for free such as massages, waxing samples, haircuts and makeovers. "We get a lot of military clientele, both men and women," said Beth Snodgrass, a representative of Spa Bella. "While women get their nails done or enjoy relaxing massage men can get a haircut or enjoy a massage as well. It feels good to know that we can take off a little bit of stress that is built up." Overall the women of Sheppard and their girlfriends enjoyed having Girl's Night Out at the Sheppard Club and thought that it was a relaxing environment. Tiffany Lagrone who attended Girls Night out with her friend Holly Long said "I was hesitant to go out but my friends said that I would be missing out if I didn't go." Sure enough Ms. Lagrone agreed. She said that she was enjoying her night and the time with her friends.
